More News From Nowhere

Come together

Posted in General by brettok on November 29, 2009

This weekend in November will be long remembered.  Cherished.  It was a weekend of union, and reunion.

It all played out beautifully.  My dearest Aussie friend, here with me, to share the celebrations of my dearest Kiwi friends.

Karl and Claire’s wedding was just fantastic.  People as nice as these two are rare, and I’m honoured to count them as friends.  Hopefully now he’s married, Karl will ride slower and give us a chance to win.

Then of course there’s Phillipa.  From the moment she touched down, she was in love with Wellington.  Now my dearest friend understands my own love affair, why I remain here, and I now feel even more a part of this great city.  We fitted a lot in in her five days here, with the highlight being a trip to the Wairarapa and Cape Palliser.

Ngawi would have to be one of the strangest places I’ve ever been to.  It’s surreal.  A fishing village, if you will, at the literal ‘end of the road.’  There’s one way in, one way out.  Which adds to it’s mystique.  A magical place, a magical weekend.

Yep, what he said! Wellington is a special place filled with special people. Bretto, stay where you are, we’re coming over!
