Why I can’t leave (1)
There are plenty of great things about my adopted city of Wellington. Sure, it’s windy. Yep, it rains a bit in winter (that’s what is supposed to happen in winter, yeah?). But those things just don’t bother me. It’s just weather. Everything else about this place cancels out those two minor foibles. The main reason I feel I can’t leave is the riding. The assembled mass was myself, Marjolein, Bella, Josh and Rigid. Josh prayed at the altar of the 808.
Our pilgrimage to the Akatarawas cleansed our souls through 125km’s of wind, joy, pain and suffering.
Praise the bike. For it is God. Now we eat chocolate. And drinketh beer. For we have earned it. Amen.
On the road, Epilogue; On the road!
When you’re travelling with an avowed road ride hater, the mention of a desire to roll on skinnies can be met with a less than enthusiastic response, to say the least. (more…)
